Good morning,
An early Sunday Check-In to remind everyone that at 10:30am we have Brad Aronson speaking to our community. He is the author of Human Kind, and I believe that we will all find much inspiration from this talk. This is appropriate for 5th graders and up.
Join the zoom here.
You will have the opportunity to put that inspiration into action next week with our Virtual Day of Service for MLK Day. We are encouraging the entire community to do acts of kindness and acts of service on their own. Here is a list for inspiration. The day will kick off with a community session at 9:00am with our Rabbinic Intern Noam Kornsgold as a part of our Mitzvah Kallah sessions.
A few other highlights:
On Sunday, February 21st, we are bringing in Kalman Samuels, the founder of Shalva - an organization committed to inclusion in Israel. Mark your calendars, check out one of their music videos, and learn more/purchase the book.
Have extra tefillin that you no longer use? Donate them to the synagogue. We can use them for world wide wrap, our Religious School and services in general.
Are you interested in learning hebrew virtually with small groups? We are exploring partnering with online tutors in Israel to set up small classes. Please let me know if you are interested.
Mishloach manot order form letters and emails are out. Mishoach manot is a great way to show your fellow congregants that you are thinking of them - and it is Sisterhood's largest fundraiser of the year which greatly helps our community. To those that participate each year, thank you. To others, I humbly ask that you consider participating.
I have included a few other event links at the bottom of this email, but I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to once again remind you that we have incredible volunteers that have offered to shop and support our congregants. If you need anything during this time, if you or a family member are in quarantine, sick, or just need a friendly voice, please do not hesitate to let me know so that we can be there for you.
Wishing you a week filled with love, kindness, and health.
