9:00 AM Kickoff: Mitzvah Kallah: A Big Dose of Small Kindness - Event - Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El (tbhbe.org)
Provided are a list of activities you can do at/around your home that morning! Pick one or two for your family to participate in and let us know what you decide! Take photos and post them on our Facebook page!
A - Arrange to have a cup of tea and virtual catch up with someone you know.
B - Bake Cookies and bring to first responders in your community
C – Color/ Paint happy sayings on rocks and place in your friend’s lawn/garden
D – Display encouraging messages on your sidewalk using chalk
E – Empty some cans in your pantry and bring them to local food pantries
F – Facetime a family member or friend who may need a cheerful smile
G – Gift handmade cards with pictures and jokes to your neighborhood friends and keep them anonymous
H – Host a virtual game night with friends/family this week that you plan today
I – Initiate a random conversation with someone on a walk today
J – Join a cause that your family is very passionate about.
K – keep/make small toiletries/food kits in your car for people you drive by who might need some assistance
L – Lay out 50 pennies heads up around your school parking lot
M – Make someone else’s bed
N – navigate around you home considering ways your family can be more environmentally friendly
O – Online reviews to some of your favorite companies/stores/vendors throughout this pandemic
P – Pick up trash in your neighborhood
Q - Quote your favorite motivational leaders and live today by one of their messages.
R – review your personal library and donate unnecessary books to the library
S - Sort through the clothes in your house with your family and donate the giveaways
T – Tell each of your family members one thing you love about them.
U – Undertake the project of "Mishloah Manot" this year starting today by deciding with your family what you will do and what they may look like.
V – Visit someone who is elderly or sick through the window and bring them soup
W - Write a letter for your mailperson and post it on your mailbox
X – Xanthiums, Roses and Carnations, make a flower bouquet and bring it to someone who deserves it!
Y – Yes family! Try a day of only saying yes to things and see how it makes your family feel!
Z – Zip down your discomfort and write and perform a parody for a friends upcoming birthday, anniversary, celebration. Send it to them!

Lunch and Learn Thursday, January 28th | Tu’ Bishvat Seder, the plants of the bible and what they can tell us about our traditions and customs with Jonathan Billig. Jonathan has designed programs, trained teachers, and coordinated departments at The Bronx Botanical Garden, Wave Hill, and New Hampshire’s Mount Monadnock. He holds a Masters of Science from Antioch University, New England, and a b.a. in history from Columbia University. His Jewish journey includes an undergraduate degree from JTS, participation in Aleph's Kesher Fellowship and Romemu's Yeshiva program, and a stint as a Teva educator and farmhand at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. He also co-designed and led the “Synagogue In the Woods” program for Temple Beth Shalom, Mahopac and has taught for multiple synagogues, starting with Greenburgh Hebrew Center in Westchester, NY, where he was a student.
