Synagogue Updates

Good morning,

As I send this, I am about to leave to drop my children off at summer camp. I want to make sure you have seen Hallie's message asking for the summer addresses of our students attending sleep away camps this summer. She wants to mail them something during. One of the areas that our staff want to work on is fostering connections between our youth and the synagogue. Writing to them at summer camp is a great example of this. A few other examples of this are our youth torah reading initiative, our Better Together Program, and our College Outreach Program. We look forward to sharing more as summer goes on.

Yesterday was our Pride Shabbat. I am pleased to share a link to the sermon by Rabbi Cooper and the talk by Dr. Evan Graber. Yesterday was also a special kiddush sponsored by Cynthia Saltzman and Perry Dane & Talya Fishman and Max Apple.  If you are interested in sponsoring a kiddush, please reach out to Barbara Schwartz (and it is so good to be able to write that).

Your weekly reminder - sign ups for baking or receiving challahs are due by Monday each week. 

Sisterhood Summer Social is this Tuesday night. Don't forget to RSVP!

As Covid-19 numbers are still on a decline, there is a variant that is taking hold. Israel is considering going back to a mask mandate. We are watching closely as we continue to update our own policies. So this is a good opportunity to remind everyone - if you need any type of support, we can try to find volunteers to help. 

Wishing you a great week and some time off for relaxation and recharging. Summer camp at the synagogue has begun, the holidays come early this year (of course they are right on time Jewishly) - and we are gearing up!
