Sibling Rivalry in the Torah: Models of Cooperation and Competition: In this text-study class, we will read and discuss the Torah stories of Rachel and Leah, Joseph and his brothers, and Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Although these stories may already be familiar to some of you, I hope to deepen understanding and appreciation of the Torah texts by integrating traditional and modern commentaries and by focusing on the lens of sibling cooperation and competition.

Rabbi Lisa Malik is a dual degree graduate from the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences and Wharton Business School. She earned a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Policy Analysis at Stanford University, served as the Education Director of a synagogue supplementary school in San Francisco, and was a Brand Management executive at Procter & Gamble. Rabbi Malik served as the Rabbi of SJCC-Bnai Aaron, and Temple Beth Ahm.
