6:30 PM - 7:30 PMHelp Shape the Future of the "Middlessence" Initiative at TBH-BE
As you may know, one of the current priorities the TBHBE Strategic Plan identified for the synagogue is to better address the needs and interests of our members in “Middlessence,” the mid-life stage of transition and renewal typically falling between ages 45-65.
For many people in this age range, active daily parenting eventually gives way to an “empty nest,” and some face significant transitions in their career or family life. These life changes can inspire new journeys of self-discovery, redefined personal goals, and renewed dedication of energy, skills, and resources. Many people at this transitional stage are seeking new opportunities for leadership, service, and building community.
TBH-BE hopes to galvanize and serve this group by: 1) integrating their interests into established synagogue programming like adult education, and 2) by establishing an affinity group of member volunteers to develop and coordinate new programs of social, intellectual, and spiritual resonance.
We are happy to announce that a “working group” of member volunteers is now forming to lead this initiative at TBH-BE. We are beginning to discuss and plan programs to offer to the synagogue community next year – and are seeking new participants to contribute their expertise and vision.
Please join us! Together, we aim to create a social network that fosters connection, growth, and engagement, and to offer enriching programming designed to support and inspire our members.
You are invited to join us on the outdoor patio this Wednesday evening, June 25, to enjoy a beer or soft drink and a nosh, and to discuss our common visions for this initiative at TBH-BE. Learn about what we’ve been doing so far, and share your ideas for the future. Consider joining our working committee this summer to help shape the future of this initiative, and to bring these ideas to life.
