The TBH-BE Men’s Club provides a forum for male congregants to collectively address the needs of the synagogue and its membership while contributing to the vitality of our congregation.  Our goal is to be an asset to the congregation by actively participating in, creating and sponsoring events that enrich the congregation. We desire to strengthen friendships within our group and our synagogue, as well as to create ties with our youth, other local synagogues and the community at large.  Join us and share the strength of a community.

Softball 2008

Softball season began in April and then continues on most Sundays through the end of July with playoffs in August.  We are fielding two teams and are off to a successful start of the season. We have had unparalleled success in being able to field two of the best teams in the league year after year.  It is a great opportunity to come out, exercise, make new friends, see old friends and become a true weekend warrior. If you aren't assigned to a team, please contact Mitchell Clair (team Gold) or Richard Stutman (team Blue).  We welcome mid-season additions to the team so it isn't too late to join.  See below for team assignments and the calendar for the schedule.  For the league schedule and standings go to:

Tzedakah-thon 2008 - June 1

Hope you were able to join us for Tzedakah-thon 2008 on June 1. Thanks to all the  volunteers and participants.  We raised about $45,000 to help many tzedakot.  See some pictures.

Phillies Game - Family Night Out - Aug 5

Get your tickets for a fun family night out at the Phillies game with your TBHBE friends.  Join us on Tuesday August 5 for the Phillies vs. Florida Marlins.  Tickets are $25 and include some light snacks.  Contact Jay Perlman to reserve your tickets.  Seats are in section 423.  Game time is 7:05.  See flyer for details and RSVP form.

Investment Club

Did you know that the Men’s Club has an Investment Club?  For the last 4 years, the Investment Club has been working together to educate ourselves in investing while having fun and hopefully earning some money.  We are open to having new people join the club and have revamped the membership structure to make it easier for new people to join the club.  Minimum initial investment is only $150 with a minimum monthly investment of $36.  We meet most months, normally on Wednesday night or Sunday mornings.   The Investment Club reported a net gain of about 20% for 2007. The Investment Club has a diversified portfolio of stocks with assets under management and 34 members.  If you would like to learn more about joining the Investment Club, call Lewis Rothstein.  See the calendar for the meeting schedule.
