Planting a Permaculture Garden
Sunday, October 23, 2016 • 21 Tishrei 5777
11:00 AM - 12:30 PMA permaculture garden can look messy and disorganized. There are no evenly spaced plants standing at attention in weed-free rows. Instead, flowers and vegetables meander together on pathways carved out to maximize sun exposure and water retention. Birds and insects are encouraged to visit. Rather than trying to bend the rules of nature, the gardener trusts in the wisdom of the earth itself, simulating the patterns that encourage microbes and worms, build up soil, and provide nutrients for plants. Whether you’re a new gardener or one with experience, you’ll learn ways to incorporate permaculture principles now, with any size area, (indoors or out), and have organic greens on your Passover table in the spring.
