Dr. Emilie Passow
Perhaps the two most well-known passages from Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), is HaKol is hevel/All is vanity (foolishness) and Ein chadash metachat hashemesh/There is nothing new under the sun. But these phrases punctuate a series of outlooks on what might give life meaning. The structure of the book becomes an internal conversation that lends these phrases more ambiguity than is first apparent. Join us for an exploration of King Solomon’s existential/spiritual journey and why this is a particularly apt text to read on Sukkot.
