Scholar in Residence Dr. Donniel Hartman, May 18 and 19, 2012

Dr. Donniel Hartman is the Co-Director of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.  He was ordained as a Rabbi at the Shalom Hartman Institute, and holds an M.A. in Political Philosophy from N.Y.U., an M.A. in Religion from Temple University and a Ph.D. in Jewish Philosophy from Hebrew University.  The Shalom Hartman Institute is the foremost innovator in the field of pluralistic Jewish thought, and a major center for research and Rabbinic, teacher and lay leadership education. Rabbi Dr. Hartman served for 11 years as a Judaic Scholar In Residence at the JCC on the Palisades, NJ, where he pioneered the Scholar-in-Residence model for the JCC field.  He is the author of a new Judaica curriculum for Israeli schools entitled “Spheres of Jewish Identity.”  He lives in Jerusalem
