Annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony

This year, the National Days of Remembrance are Sunday April 7 through Sunday April 14. During that week we, as a community have opportunities to remember and commemorate the Holocaust while recalling our collective past. Holocaust Remembrance Day- Yom Hashoah Vehagvurah (Day of Holocaust and Heroism) is Thursday April 8, 2013 and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has designated "Never Forget" as the theme for the 2013 observance. We invite you as members of our Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El community to join us in remembering the stories of the people of the Holocaust, a history of real individuals and families, people with birthdays and dreams, our people. We will recall the experiences and history of those whose hopes were extinguished and stories of those who risked their lives to save Jews. We can promise that once you get to know them, their story becomes your story.

Sunday April 7-Sunday April 14:
Commemoration of National Days of Remembrance

Sunday, April 7:
TBH-BE Remembrance and Candle Lighting Ceremony, Main Sanctuary, 7:30 pm

Monday April 8:
Community wide Yom HaShoah Remembrance at Main Line Reform Temple, 7:00 pm

When we join in remembrance to memorialize those who were killed and honor those who survived, we are reminded of the importance of preserving freedom, protecting democracy, promoting human dignity, and confronting hatred. We hope you have an opportunity to join us during this week of remembrance for what I promise will be a moving, personal and universal experience.
